Rahim Yar Khan: The Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera, on Sunday said that police force is being taken all possible measures for the safe recovery of 24 police personnels held hostage by the Chotu Gang.
IGP said this while addressing a press conference at Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday night and urged the media groups to pay tribute of the martyrs of the Operation Zarb-e-Ahan and requested to avoid unnecessary criticisms on the police force.
He said so far six police officials had been martyred, 24 others held hostage while 100 facilitators of Chotu gang were arrested and found no politician among of them.
It was a joint operation of police and Pak Army from the day first, he added.
He said that the operation Zerb-e-Ahan would be successful and the area would be wiped out from criminals soon. He was of the opinion that all possible facilities were being provided to the foces during the operation. He paid visits to victims houses to show solidarity with breaved familiy of the martyrs.
