ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said Young Development Corps (YDC) has emerged the biggest forum of youth mobilization in the country under Vision-2025.
He said youth has immense potential to become brand ambassadors of Pakistan and show its positive attributes to the world.
Ahsan Iqbal made these remarks at formal inauguration of Young Development Corps (YDC) chapter and inauguration of Library Centre at Okara Campus of University of Education.
The Minister noted that national unity is the need of the hour to address challenges and achieve goals of development and progress by engaging youth.
Ahsan Iqbal pointed out that objective of YDC is to involve the youth in the mainstream of national development so that maximum advantage can be derived from potential and abilities.
Talking about rapid enrolment of girls in higher education, the Minister said that it is very encouraging to see that females are surpassing males in higher education.
He said that improved accessibility of higher education at district level under the vision of present government did benefit girls immensely by providing them the opportunities of higher education near to their doorsteps.
Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan of today is a changed country what it was in 2016 by registering significant improvements in economy and law & order in the country.
"Political stability and continuity in policies are essential to sustain the momentum of growth and socio-economic evolution of Pakistan and its institutions," he added.
