ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Friday adopted a motion to refer the Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (Conversion) Bill, 2016 as passed by the lower house and rejected by the Senate to the joint sitting for consideration and passage.
The motion was moved by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed on March 14 in the House under sub-rule (7) of rule 154 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.
Meanwhile, the President has already summoned the Joint Sitting to meet on Monday 21 Mar at 5pm.
It is also expected that Anti-Rape Laws(Criminal Laws Amendment) Bill, 2015; the Anti-Honour Killing Laws (Criminal Laws Amendment) Bill, 2015; the Privatisation Commission (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015; the Torture, Custodial Death and Custodial Rape (Prevention and Punishment) Bill, 2015 and the Gas Theft Control and Recovery Bill, 2014 will also be on the agenda of the Joint Sitting.
