ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has decided to conduct re-polls on the two Polling Stations of NA-39 Tribal Area-IV on March 6, 2016.
The decision was taken in compliance of the Judgment of Election Tribunal, Abbottabad and Peshawar High Court, said spokesman of the ECP on Thursday.
The re-polls will be held on two polling stations including Polling Station No. 12 (IDPs Camp Muhammad Khwaja PS-1 and No. 13 (IDPs Camp Muhammad Khwaja PS-2), he added.
The meeting of the ECP was held under the Chairmanship of CEC, Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza in order to review the law and order situation and to fix a date for conduct of re-poll at two IDPs polling stations of Constituency No. NA-39 Tribal Area-IV.
The Members of the ECP, Secretary ECP, Commissioner, Kohat Division; Political Agent, Orakzai Agency; Deputy Commissioner, Hangu; DPO, Hangu and senior officers of the Election Commission of Pakistan attended the meeting, he added.
The Commissioner, Kohat Division; Political Agent, Orakzai Agency; Deputy Commissioner, Hangu; and DPO, Hangu highlighted the detail about the prevailing law and order situation and other security arrangements in the area. Political Agent Aurakzai Agency proposed to establish polling stations at Government High School, Muhammad Khwaja District Hangu which is situated at a distance of 1- 2 furlongs camp of IDPs.
The Commission, after through deliberations, unanimously decided that the DRO concerned may approach the Commission seeking permission for change of polling stations from Camp Area to Government High School Muhammad Khwaja for ensuring better security and rest of the arrangements facilitating the electors.
