ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Food Security and Research, Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan here on Thursday said that government has successful brought the country out of the turmoil of corruption and malpractice.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, the minister said that when Pakistan Muslim League (N) came in power in 2013, the economy was in shackles, law and order situation was bleak and foreign investment was on decline.
Despite inheriting a fragile and unstable economy, government met all its international commitments and that could be heard in the international arena as well, he added.
He said that transparency and democracy are co-related and complement each other and government is committed to bring transparency and accountability besides eradication of the menace of terrorism and corruption from the country.
It is very easy to expose the tainted past of those who were trying to sabotage the current drive against corruption but "we believe in action than wasting precious time in blame game".
The minister said that after devolution of Federal Food Ministry, the provinces have done nothing worthwhile for uplift of agriculture sector and their expenditure on agri-sector dropped drastically.
The farmers, he said were in critical condition because of wrong policies of the governments of past and PML-N government was trying to support the farmer.
The involvement of PPP leaders in corruption cases like Employees' Old Age Benefits Institution, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Pakistan international Air line and Sui Gas companies clearly highlight their so called democratic and moral values.
Even, he said that they did not spare the Haj and Umrah schemes and worst corruption was committed during the last regime.
