imagePESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has warned that the provincial government was keeping vigilant eye on district government departments as well through Anti Corruption department and other sources to check menace of corruption.

Complaints regarding corrupt practices in government departments at district level are being received, he disclosed.

He was addressing the participants of a meeting of the heads of all government departments of district Nowshera held at CM Secretariat on Monday.

The Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation Mian Jamshed ud Din, Special Assistant to CM Mian Khaleeq ur Rehman, District Nazim Nowshera Liaqat Khattak, MNA Dr. Imran Khattak , Chairman DDAC, Nowshera Qurban Ali Khan, MPA Idrees Khattak, all Tehsil Nazims, Deputy Commissioner Iftikhar Alam, the District Police Officer, Tehsil Municipal Officers and heads of all devolved departments attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister sought progress report on the ongoing and new uplift schemes as well as operational affairs of the district departments and urged them to fully prepare themselves for effective and meaningful service delivery especially in the backdrop of newly introduced local government system.

He directed the district administration to maintain computerized record of all development schemes as well as upto date progress on them so as to check duplication of uplift projects.

He also asked the heads of education, health, public health and other departments to strictly monitor attendance of teachers, doctors, operators and other staff and those found absent must be taken to task by the book.

Pervez Khattak on this occasion said that about 4000 public health tube wells would be converted into solar system throughout the province so as to ensure uninterrupted power supply to them.

He, therefore directed the Public Health Engineering (PHE) officials to acquire additional land for each PHE tube well in district Nowshera to install the solar system.

He informed that under the planning and development department's guidelines for local government it had been made compulsory for all district governments to spend 20 percent of their development budget on needs of middle and high schools.

Therefore, district governments should devise a comprehensive strategy for utilizing this money. He further said that the present provincial government was also executing a huge project at a cost of eight billion rupees for the rehabilitation and renovation of 400 government schools and under the project all missing facilities will also be provided to these schools.

He directed the MPAs and Nazims of Nowshera to indentify such schools in the district which were lacking necessary facilities.

Similarly Pervez Khattak said that in order to address the health sector's problems, the provincial government had decided to defer certain new schemes in this sector and divert the allocated financial resources to fully equip the existing health facilities with staff, equipments, medicines, rehabilitation of buildings and other essential healthcare facilities.

Announcing provision of Mobile Health Care Units for each Tehsil of Nowshera district, the Chief Minister said that all district headquarters hospital of the province will also be given autonomous status on the line of four major tertiary hospitals.

He also said that all police stations and Revenue Offices of the province will be converted into modern facilities under the next year budget while orders had already been issued for establishing modern police reporting rooms in 100 police stations at a cost of Rs.250 million.

He also reviewed uplift schemes in communication, irrigation, agriculture, livestock, environment and other sectors and directed the concerned authorities as well as the public representatives to ensure up to the mark quality of work on these projects.
