ISLAMABAD: Central leader Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Dr Arif Alvi Thursday welcomed the government's decision to hold Pak-India cricket series in Sri Lanka and said it would ease tension between the two countries.
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, Arif Alvi said that sports link was necessary and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi should also play his due role in this regard.
To a question regarding local government elections in Sindh, PTI legislator said that the government should deploy military to conduct peaceful and transparent elections in Sindh.
"Karachi operation should not be linked with local government elections in Sindh, as it is against the elements that destroy peace in the port city," he added.
Regarding the PTI decision to approach again in the court of law on NA-122, Arif Alvi said that PTI has right to point out rigging in the local government and general elections.
