ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has started receiving nomination papers for the third phase of Local Government (LG) elections in Punjab and Sindh scheduled to be held on December 3.
A news channel quoting an Election Commission official on Saturday reported that nomination papers could be filed by Wednesday (Oct 3 to 7).
Scrutiny of nomination papers will begin from Thursday and final list of the candidates will be issued on November, 7.
12 districts in Punjab including Layyah, Rajanpur, D.G.Khan, Muzaffargarh, Jhang, Khushab, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Narowal, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Multan, will go for the local government elections in third phase.
In Sindh, the local polls will be held in six districts of Karachi including Karachi West, Karachi East, Karachi South, Karachi Central, Korangi and Malir.
