LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said transparency, standard and speed are hallmark of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government and it was free of corruption and no one could level any allegation against it in this regard.
He was talking to members of assembly of PML-N belonging to various districts who met him, here on Sunday.
He said the PML-N government was serving people selflessly and effective steps were being taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to overcome the challenges being faced by the country.
Shahbaz Sharif said national economy suffered a heavy loss due to sit-ins and politics of protest last year and these activities created hurdles in the process of progress and prosperity of the country.
He said those who wasted the precious time of the nation did not pay attention to the interests of the people or the common man.
He said with the grace of Allah, PML-N government has again started the journey of development with a new determination and it is moving ahead with a new spirit.
He said the first and biggest 100 megawatt solar power project set up by Punjab government with its own resources at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur has started production of electricity whereas work is being carried out speedily on solar project of 900 megawatt with the cooperation of China and this project will also be completed in a record period.
He said provision of potable water to the masses in all tehsils of Punjab will be ensured under Saaf Pani Project till 2017 and 70 billion rupees will be spent on Saaf Pani Project during next three years.
The Chief Minister said that under Self-Employment Scheme, 50 thousand vehicles are being distributed among unemployed youth on merit and the quota of districts of south Punjab has been increased.
He said this project of billions of rupees is a proof of transparency and merit. He said that under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme, construction and repair of all roads of rural areas has been started on which an amount of Rs.150 billion will be utilized during three years.
He said that there is no similar example of saving of national resources in the history of Pakistan which has been set up by Punjab government.
Shahbaz Sharif said the government has given historic Ramazan Package of billions of rupees for providing relief to the masses during Ramazan-ul-Mubarik.
He said besides concerned institutions, the role of elected representatives is also of vital importance for providing relief to the people in the real sense during Ramazan-ul-Mubarik.
