ISLAMABAD: Newly elected Senator Muhammad Azam Khan Swati on Friday took oath as member, Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani administered oath.
Following the oath taking ceremony, the newly elected member of the Upper House signed 'Roll of Members'.
The Senate seat had been fallen vacant after the death of Azam Khan Hoti of Awami National Party (ANP).
Azam Swati is provincial president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He was elected as a member of the Upper House of Parliament from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by defeating JUI-F nominee Haji Ghulam Ali.
Azam Swati had already served as member of the Upper House as member of JUI-F. He resigned from the Senate and the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F), in 2011 and joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
