MARDAN: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here Wednesday paid a brief visit to the residence of ANP leader Ameer Haider Khan Hoti to expresse condolences with him over the demise of his father Senator Azam Khan Hoti.
The Prime Minister offered Fateha and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to members of the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.
The Prime Minister paying tributes to the late politician said he regarded him as personal friend and has fond memories of his long association with him. He appreciated the contribution made by late Hoti towards development of his area.
The Prime Minister also praised the political services of Late Azam Khan Hoti, saying the country lost a true politician and his services would be remembered for long time to come.
The Prime Minister on this occasion also eulogized the courage and political services of ANP Central Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain, saying Mian Sahib (Iftikhar Hussain) has lost his only son in war against terrorism but never stepped back from terror war."Mian Sahib, you are brave leader and we are proud of you."
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Federal Minister for Defence and Water and Power, Khwaja Muhammad Asif, Khyber Pakthunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, Advisor to the Prime Minister Engr Amir Muqam, Senator Iqbal Zafar Jehagra, Capt Retd Muhammad Safdar.
The ANP leaders MNA Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Haji Adeel, PML-N Mardan leader Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hoti alias Toti Khan, Syed Aqil Shah and Mian Iftikhar Hussain were present on the occasion.
On April 15 last, Senator Azam Khan Hoti died in Mardan due to cancer at the age of 69. Azam Hoti had twice served as federal minister, and was also elected as senator twice in 1993 and then again in 2012.
