imageISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday summoned interior secretary and directed him to appear in person on April 14, in a contempt of court case filed by Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi, one of the main accused in Mumbai attacks.

The court also issued contempt of court notice to DCO Okara for not releasing Lakhvi in compliance of court orders.

A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Noor ul Haq N Qureshi heared contempt of court plea filed by Lakhvi against interior secretary Shahid Khan and DCO Okara Faisal Saleem here Wednesday.

Counsel for the petitioner, Raja Rizwan Abbasi apprised the bench that the court had set aside the Likhvi's detention orders by the Magistrate on March, 11, and ordered his release. But court orders had not been implemented so far.

He said no evidence could be produced against the accused in Mumbai attack case.

He said the protective custody of his client is also breaching the fundamental rights of the accused.

After hearing the arguments, the court summoned interior secretary on April 14 besides serving a contempt of notice to DCO Okara for his written reply.
