LAHORE: Ambassador of China to Pakistan Sun Weidong met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
Matters of mutual interest, Pak-China relations and promotion of cooperation in different sectors were discussed in the meeting says a handout released here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that China was a very reliable and sincere friend of Pakistan.
He said that friendship between Pakistan and China was higher than Himalayas, sweeter than honey, stronger than steel and deeper than ocean.
He said that China had proved to be a true friend of Pakistan and helped it in the development of various sectors.
The Chief Minister said that during the tenure of Pakistan Muslim League-N government, led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, new avenues of cooperation were opening up between the two countries in different sectors and the longstanding friendly relations between China and Pakistan have been turned into fruitful economic relations.
He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was striving for development of every sector of the country. He said that there is a vast scope of cooperation between Pakistan and China in energy, transport and other sectors.
Shahbaz Sharif said that people of Pakistan are proud of their friendship with China as well as the Chinese cooperation for the development and progress of Pakistan.
He said that China had made rapid development through continuous struggle and hard work and become a strong economic force. He said that speedy progress made by China was a role model for the other countries of the world.
The Chief Minister said that Pak-China economic corridor will result in promotion of economic and trade activities and it is important step toward strength and stability of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong said that Pak-China economic and trade cooperation was increasing and China is deeply interested in economic stability of Pakistan.
He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had executed a number of development projects which are benefitting the people of the province.
He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was an active and dynamic leader and is sparing no effort for the welfare and progress of the masses.
He said that Chinese leadership is also impressed with the hard work and determination of Shahbaz Sharif.
