KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr.Ishrart-ul-Ebad Khan has said that formation of Pakistan Wheelchair cricket team was pleasant addition in the sport and steps will be take to promote and support the players.
He made the observations during his meeting with wheelchair cricket team and officials at the Governor's House on Tuesday night.
Governor said steps will be taken to provide jobs to the wheelchair cricketers so that they could fully divert their energies on playing cricket.
Dr.Ishrart assured his full support for wheelchair cricketers from Sindh Government.
He said wheelchair cricket team would be strengthened and supported and he was personally working for these cricketers. He said grounds would also be allocated for wheelchair cricketers.
Sindh Governor said he would be speak to Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Shaharyar Khan for assistance and support for wheelchair cricket team.
Dr.Ishrat also sought the advice in regard to ground, transport, financial resources and funds needed for the wheelchair cricketers.
Prominent Industrialist Mehtab Chawla announced Rs.1 million for the wheelchair cricketers.
Muhammad Zeeshan informed the Governor about 20 years hardwork put in for the formation of wheelchair cricket team.
He said Pakistan Wheelchair team will be making their maiden trip to Nepal for taking part in an international event.
Dr.Ishrat-ul-Ebad shake hands all the members of the team and encouraged and boost them to perform well on the ground.
Sindh Secretary Sports and Youth Affair Laeeq Ahmed, Principal Secretary Muhammad Hussain Syed, top travel operator Yahya Polani and pioneer and founder of Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Association Muhammad Zeeshan and other officials were also present on the occasion.
