ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday issued notices to secretaries Cabinet and Establishment Divisions, and Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) in a petition of the OGRA Chairman challenging sending him on forced leave by the government.
The IHC single bench of Justice Noor-ul-Haq N Qureshi heard the petition filed by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Chairman Saeed Ahmed Khan.
The petitioner took the plea that as per OGRA Ordinance, the Prime Minister, through the Cabinet Secretary, can forward a reference against chairman and members of regulatory bodies to the FPSC on specific allegations of misconduct and send them on leave till completion of an inquiry by the FPSC as they are protected under the law.
After issuing notices to the respondents, Justice Qureshi adjourned the case for a week.
