ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Nasir-Ul-Mulk has constituted five benches at the principal seat to hear a number of important cases during the next week, starting from Monday.
The first bench comprising Chief Justice, Nasir-Ul-Mulk, Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry would hear a number of important cases including review petition on behalf of Anjum Aqeel against action taken on the news clipping regarding scandal of billions of rupees of National Police Foundation Land, constitutional petitions under Article 194 for applicability of Criminal Procedure Code, 1898 to the proceedings in Tribunal FCR (Frontier Crimes Regulations), Evacuee Trust Property cases, Stranded Pakistanis General Repatriation Committee (SRGRC) against Secretary Cabinet Division, Pakistan Secretariat, Muzaffar Khan's petition for regularization of the employees of Zakat Department, bail matters of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Ehtesab cases.
The Second bench consisting of Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa will hear cases including Review petition on behalf of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association under Constitutional Petitions under Article 184 regarding unprecedented load shedding in the country, matter regarding publishing / printing incorrect version of section 23 of contract Act 1872 in book titled, `The Contract Act, 1872, 2nd Edition/2011' by M. Mahmood, Advocate, matters regarding misprinting of Section 7(1)(e) and Section 7(4)(d) & (e) of the Patent Ordinance, 2000 in the Book titled `Manual of Intellectual Property Laws' complied by Khurram Shehzad Chughtai and Majid Bashir Published by Manzoor Law Book House, Section 2(K)(i) of Punjab Consumer Protection Act, 2005 in the Books titled "Consumer Protection Laws in Pakistan" authored by S.A. Abid Advocate High Court published by Key Law Reports (Edition 011/2012) and Manual of Consumer Protection Laws by Raja Nadeem Haider, ASC Published by Punjab Law House (Edition 2009), Constitutional Petitions Under Art. 184) (Regarding pendency of mercy petitions of 6000 condemned prisoners), petitions against dual nationality, contempt of court proceedings against former Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik and Evacuee Trust Property/Allotment of land after the repeal of Evacuee Laws.
The third bench consists of Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan while the fourth bench consisting of Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Mushir Alam would hear cases including NAB/Ehtesab Cases against former President Asif Ali Zardari, Constitutional Petitions Under Art.184 to Retrain the Govt. Functionaries from Cutting Trees and elimination of gardens along the canal in Lahore, Constitutional Petitions Under Art. 184 regarding Amendments made in PEMRA Ordinance.
The fifth bench consist of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman and Justice Umar Ata Bandial. On Friday the formation of benches will change as the first bench will comprise Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Mushir Alam while the second bench will consist of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman and Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
The third bench consists of Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, while the fourth bench consists of Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa and the fifth bench comprises Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan.
According to case lists, no adjournment on any ground will be granted and no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the Court.
If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the advocate-on-record will be required to argue the case.
