imageISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Thursday continued debate on the motion regarding terrorist attack on Army Public School Peshawar.

Taking part in the debate Karin Haider of Pakistan Mulism League (PML-N) said that Peshawar attack was a very tragic and gloomy incident in which innocent children were brutally massacred by the terrorists.

She said that she has no words to express her grief and sorrow over this tragic incident.

Syed Waseem Hassan of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) while taking part in the debate expressed deep sympathies with the bereaved families of Shaheed students and teachers. He said that passage of 21st amendment was the reflection of political sagacity of all political parties.

He said had the government took pragmatic steps on Altaf Hussain suggestion in past such tragic incident never happened.

He said it was a right time to fight against those elements and mindset who brainwashed our youth for terrorist activities.

Dr. Ibad ullah of PML-N said that thousands of innocent people including personnel of law enforcing agencies have lost their lives in the war against terrorism. The army was fighting against these terrorists for the last 10 years and more power should be given to the armed forces. However, the nation should be informed about time frame of eradicating such terrorists.

He said, "they want complete elimination of terrorists as Pashtoon are the main victims of this menace and collecting bodies of their near and dear one for the past 13 years".

Shahzada Iftikhar Uddin of All Pakistan Muslim League said that the Pakistan was facing proxy war for the past 35 years. He congratulated the Prime Minister and whole parliamentarians for passage of landmark 21st amendment which would help curb evil of terrorism. He said however, there was need to address root causes of terrorism and militancy.

Later the House was adjourned to meet again on Friday at 10.30.
