LAHORE: A spokesman for the Punjab government, MPA Zaeem Hussain Qadri, on Thursday said the government would provide security to traders and a comprehensive strategy had been evolved to deal with the PTI's plan in the city on Dec 15.
Talking to this scribe at the Punjab Assembly, he said the PTI leadership was dancing at the tune of some foreign masters who did not want Pakistan's development in the region.
He said sit-ins and protest rallies were a part of an international plan to stop rapid development made by the present government. He said Imran Khan's call for shut down was unjustified as the government had already indicated holding dialogue with the PTI.
Zaeem said the country was experiencing delicate situation and under the prevailing circumstances the PTI leadership should cooperate with the government to face various challenges. "Sit-ins and protests are disastrous for the country and democracy," he observed.
He said owing to the government's revolutionary policies foreign companies were investing in the country.
He said the business community had already rejected Imran Khan's call for shut down as they wanted to do business freely.
He said the government was committed to protect life and property of the masses.
