imageLAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court Tuesday adjourning hearing of a petition seeking directions to lodge a complaint under Article six against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT Chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri till December 17, asked a federal law officer to file reply on its maintainability.

The full bench comprising Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan, Justice Shahid Hameed Dar and Justice Anwaarul Haq were hearing the petition filed by MH Mujahid.

During the hearing, the bench asked Additional Attorney General (AAG) Naseer Bhutta to advance arguments on maintainability of the petition as he had objected on its maintainability.

The AAG submitted that no direction could be passed to federal government to appoint a federal officer for launching a complaint under Article 6.

However, the petitioner's counsel A K Dogar referring to Maulvi Iqbal Haider case contended that there was no question of maintainability." Court could pass direction if government did not take any action", he argued.

But, the AAG maintained that it was sole authority of the federal government to launch a complaint under Article 6.

The court questioned the AAG whether the acts of respondents fall under Article six or not.

At this, the AAG sought four weeks time to file reply in the matter.

However, the bench allowing a week time asked the AAG to file reply on maintainability by December 17.
