LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that all possible steps would be taken for the supremacy of law and protection of life and property of citizens.
While presiding over a meeting to review law and order, here Tuesday, he expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of a precious human life due to firing in Faisalabad.
He said that the elements involved in the incident will not be able to escape justice. He directed that immediate arrest of the persons involved in firing be ensured.
He said that all citizens are equal before the law and an inquiry committee has been constituted to look into the tragic incident that occurred in Faisalabad. He said that demands of justice will be fulfilled at any cost.
The chief minister said that protection of life and property of citizens was the prime responsibility of the government. He directed the police and administration to maintain law and order in the province.
Shahbaz Sharif directed that the elements taking law in their hands be dealt with sternly and police and administration should perform their duties efficiently. He said that government would discharge its responsibility regarding protection of life and property of citizens in an effective manner and action will be taken without any discrimination over violation of law.
