ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said the pipeline with Iran was the shortest and safest route for gas import to Pakistan.
Talking to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday, he said Pakistan was committed to laying the pipeline for transfer of gas from Iran.
He said Pakistan was highly interested in enforcing and executing the project as it was the shortest possible path for importing energy. "We are moving fast towards implementation of the project," he added.
Ayaz Sadiq referred to his recent 'helpful' meeting with Iranian counterpart and said it was like a meeting between two brothers who shared common views on different subjects.
Noting that the two sides had in their talks underlined the need for strengthening unity and brotherhood among Muslim Ummah, the NA Speaker said Muslim Ummah stood united and issues aimed at dividing on sectarian basis, would never succeed.
