KARACHI: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Wednesday said that it was under the current provincial government that concrete measures have been adopted to strengthen the capacities of police force, with equal attention towards their training and equipment.
Felicitating the Sindh Police Chief on marked improvement registered in the performance of the police department in recent past, the CM said personnel are being provided with updated training and also equipped with modern gadgets.
"It was for the first time in the history of province that Sindh police have been made strong enough, equipped with latest weapons enabling to counter the crime & terrorism with success," said Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
He said that Sindh Police holds to its credit matchless achievements, while fighting against terrorism and dacoits in the Karachi and interior Sindh as well.
Besides the efforts to convert the Sindh Police into one of the strongest force of the province by imparting tough training, on latest grounds, to newly inducted jawans, besides providing them with bombproof vehicles, I jackets and so-forth.
This the Sindh CM said was besides procuring services of retired army commandos and that purpose of such huge investment was to convert the whole of Sindh into most peaceful province with income, employment, investment opportunities for the people.
The Chief Minister also directed the police chief to be pro - active, vigilant, and ensure fool proof security for travellers using highways and masses living in villages, towns and cities.
The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah who is also the president of PPP Sindh has also asked the people to come forward and co-operate with Sindh Police that was fighting against terrorism as well as against criminals of varied sorts.
