imageISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Professor Ahsan Iqbal said Monday that government was determined to accomplish its economic agenda by materializing Vision 2025.

He was talking to a high level delegation, led by Former British Foreign Secretary and President and CEO of IRC, which called on the minister here.

The minister said the vision was drawn up after consultation with a wide range of stakeholders, including parliamentarians, representatives of political parties, federal ministries, provincial governments, business leaders, international institutions, universities, think tanks and NGOs.

The minister said that over the last decade, country's per capita income has grown at less than 3% per year while other countries including Bangladesh, China, India, South Korea and Sri Lanka are growing at the rates between 6-9 percent.

He was of the view that Pakistan's potential to achieve world-class growth was hampered by an adverse image within the country and overseas.

He said it was important that the country's strengths and potential are appropriately conveyed to all stakeholders including potential national and international investors in its development.

The minister acknowledged the services of Miliband for furthering of relations between UK and Pakistan during his tenure as Foreign Secretary.
