ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday asked vice chancellors of federal universities to give proposals regarding revision of the national curriculum.
He was talking to vice chancellors of federal universities who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The President said that all provinces had agreed to work jointly for revision of the national curriculum. The President sought recommendations for inclusion of religious seminaries in the national curriculum.
The President said that degradation of society had declined in the education sector and educational institutions should sensitize the young generation against corruption.
"Its time to resolve the problem of Pakistan and for this Jihad against corruption is imperative," the President said, adding, education system should be capable to help the youth in creating political awareness.
President Mamnoon Hussain said that national educational institutions should only be named after national heroes. He said that there was a need to establish a meaningful linkage between the industry and educational institutions.
The President urged training of faculty members from elementary level to the highest level. He said education planning should be done in consultation with world ranking institutions.
