KARACHI: Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr.Abdul Malik has said that overall situation in Balouchistan has been improved and it could be claimed that the law and order in Quetta compared to the other cities of the country was much better.
This he said while addressing the "Meet- the- Press" at the office of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) here on Saturday.
He was of the view that a typical mindset had sown the seeds of hatred in Balouchistan.
Dr.Baloch said that many notorious groups of extortionists and kidnappers for ransom which were active in the past had been busted.
As far as the political situation in the country was concerned, it was a matter of great satisfaction that the political forces were cooperating with each other and now the supremacy of the Parliament was on top of all other matters, he added.
On the issue of overcoming the energy crisis, he said that the provincial government was keen on bringing improvement in the energy sector and 700MW of electricity would soon be added to the national grid for Balouchistan.
To a question about local government system, he said that the municipal bodies and representatives would be made functional after Eid-ul-Azha and the representatives would also be given powers to resolve public grievances at the grassroots level.
