SIALKOT: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday the nation had rejected 'Dharna' and dance and music politics.
Addressing flood affectees at Khojey Chak, Bajwat, after visiting flood devastated areas in Sialkot, he said people were dying in flooded areas but they were continuously staging dance and music shows in their anti-democratic and unconstitutional sit-ins in Islamabad.
He also visited flood-hit areas of Shakargarh and reviewed relief activities. The chief minister said both leaders of Azadi and Inqlab Marches should join hands of the government for helping flood affectees, adding that all politicians should come forward and play a role in helping them.
The chief minister said he would reach every affected area and ensure the provision of relief to victims. "I will not rest till the rehabilitation of the last flood victim," he added. He said miseries of flood affectees would be eradicated on top priority and also ordered the administration to expedite relief activities in flood-hit areas of Sialkot.
Local MNA Ch Armughan Subhani, MPAs Mansha Ullah Butt, Ch. Tariq Akhtar Subhani, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Harnah, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Khawaja Shamail Ahmed and Sialkot DCO Nadeem Sarwar were also present.
