imageMUZAFFARGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said the entire nation was united for flood affected people in time of sufferings and sorrow except 'few demonstrators' involved in ransacking the state's entities in the federal capital.

After reviewing different flood relief camps set up at Head Mohammad Wala here Thursday, he vowed to not sit calmly until every affectees got rehabilitated.

He termed present flood as the worst after floods of 1949 and 1972 made huge devastation across the country. He said they had released Rs 100 million for each affected district of the country.

He said, his preference was to shift affectees of low-lying areas to some safe places. He said, every facility regarding health and food was being ensured at flood relief camps.

He expressed solidarity with calamity-hit people during that critical time of juncture.

Shahbaz Shairf said that Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri had actually blocked passage of investment which actually not a loss of the government, loss of the nation at large. He said, on one hand the nation was stuck in the flood, Imran Khan holding concerts every night in Islamabad.

The CM went to Cottage Basti to inquire after health of the affectees currently dwelling in them. DCO Shukat Ali while giving briefing to the CM informed that all affectees living at riverine areas of Chenab were removed safely to the secure places. He said a lady doctor was also deputed the relief camps to come up needs of women and children.

Chief Engineer Irrigation Sheikh Nawaz also gave briefing to Shehbaz Sharif over flow of water, drainage capacity and storage capability at different bunds.

Provincial minister for Cooperative Iqbal Chunar, MPA Hamad Nawaz Tipu, Commissioner DG Khan Sohail Shehzad, RPO Rehmatullah Niazi, DPO Zameerul Haq and other district government officers were present on the occasion.
