imageISLAMABAD: "Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has urged the political parties to make a solemn pledge that they will remain united for the cause of democracy and supremacy of constitution, rule of law while rising above their differences".

Talking to Radio Pakitsan's Nukta Nazar programme, Minister of State for Privatization, Muhammad Zubair said that long marches, sits-in made democracy stronger in the country.

He said that sits-in and long marches proved counter-productive because democracy emerged stronger and they also united all the democratic forces; thus long marches proved good for the country and democracy.

He said that the ongoing contacts and dialogue process between agitating parties and government would hopefully bring positive results in the next two to three days because both sides seemed willing for a positive development.

He said "For the first time in history of Pakistan, all political parties are standing united to protect the democracy. These sit-ins have affected the economy of the country. Pakistani nation wants this issue to be resolved. Democracy will strengthen as a result of joint session of the parliament. All political parties are united to save democracy."

In order to resolve political crisis, the government and Opposition parties in Parliament are busy in holding talks with protestors.

Former President and Co-Chairman, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has said that his party sided with democracy.

Moreover, joint sitting of the both houses of Parliament continued on the fourth consecutive day on Friday to resolve the persistent issue.

Meanwhile, Political Jirga is also busy in its efforts and head of the Jirga, Siraj ul Haq said that issue would be resolved soon.
