imageISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Tuesday suspended the proceedings of the House and the members of the House started debate on current political situation and its impact on country.

Parliamentarians stressed upon uplifting of democracy and constitution of the country and raised a joint voice for not letting anti-democratic forces in putting the country in political chaos.

Initiating debate, Mehmood Khan Achakzai said that anti-democratic forces were busy in derailing democracy and putting country in political turmoil.

"I always raised voice for the uplift of the constitution, supremacy of the Parliament and stability of democracy," he said adding that anti-democratic forces should be discouraged.

Achakzai maintained that when Nawaz Sharif wanted to bring no-confidence motion against the PPP government, he was the person who asked Nawaz Sharif for not bringing that motion.

He categorically stated that he would not leave his support for Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif even if the whole country would leave Nawaz's support.

He warned that whoever would try to leave Constitutional way, he would solely fight against him and said that voicing against the Parliament is purely undemocratic.

Mehmood Achakzai said that he would hold processions in Balochistan that would not be in support of Nawaz Sharif but to back democracy and constitution.

"The country is in dire need of justice and uplift of law," he said adding that he would raise the flag against any odds.

Abdul Sattar Bachani said that the Pakistan Peoples Party had always laid sacrifices for safeguarding democracy in the country.

Quoting Asif Ali Zardari, he said Zardari always says, "Democracy is the best revenge," and the whole party has a faith in uplifting of democracy.

He was of the view that the democracy in the country is yet not that much strong and stabilized and that was why the PPP leadership, "despite injustice in Punjab" has accepted the election results.

He criticized the political chaos and said that creating anarchy was not good as it tantamount to destroying the country.

Referring towards the military operation in the North Waziristan Agency (NWA), he said that the whole nation stands united with the Army and favours military operation against terrorists.
