KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Food, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has appealed to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leaders to review their "Long March" decision in view of the given situation in the country.
Talking to PPP workers on Thursday, he said there is no denial to the fact that rallies and marches are part of democracy, however, political leadership must at the same time need to take into account the existent situation in the country.
"PPP itself has a long history of contribution and sacrifices for democracy," he said adding that no compromise would be made for the stability of democratic culture in the country.
The minister said the PML (N) government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reflecting its magnanimity ought to adopt a patient approach and establish sincerity in addressing grievances of all political parties.
"We must realize and accept the fact that PTI is also a stakeholder in the existent political system," said Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar.
He suggested that the current political leadership of the country can take clue from its predecessor, the PPP central government that efficiently handled all challenges and ensured sustainability of democracy in the country, against all odds.
