ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani has said that the proposed long march by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was aimed to gain political mileage not to strengthen democracy.
Talking to the media outside the Parliament House here, he said the PTI's government had failed to deliver in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the country was passing through a critical situation and the political parties should work to strengthen democracy.
To a question, he said Pakistan Awami Tehrik chief Dr Tahirul Qadri had no role to play in the country's politics and urged the media not to highlight his point of view.
Durrani asked Dr Qadari to give the details of funds he had collected to stage a sit-in at D-Chowk against the PPP government.
To another question, he said the government had arranged number of programmes to celebrate August 14.
He also invited Imran Khan to participate in independence celebrations.
