ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Monday termed the President's address to the joint session of Parliament balanced as it covered both internal and foreign policies of the government, besides the problems being faced by the country.
Talking to the media outside the Parliament House, the minister said that the President had rightly pointed out sacrifices rendered by the armed forces for the country.
He said that it was right time to resolve all issues with the neighbouring countries through dialogue as wars were no solution to any issue.
The minister said that the President also mentioned the Kashmir issue in his speech. "We want to resolve this longstanding issue in the light of UN resolutions," he added.
He urged all the political parties to work for the progress, prosperity and development of the country.
Abid said that the government had already initiated work on several mega energy projects to address power load-shedding on permanent basis.
He expressed the hope that Pakistan would be self-sufficient in electricity after completion of these projects.
