imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of Civil Aviation Authority's (CAA) case regarding misbehaves with expatriates at airports till June 9.

The three-member bench headed by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan resumed hearing of the suo-moto case.

The court expressed annoyance over removing of Director Commercial from the post and making him Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and directed the CAA to submit reply in this regard.

During the course of proceedings, Asif Bashir former Director Commercial CAA informed the court that he was made OSD on May 16 without mentioning any reason.

He said that he was targeted because he raised some objections over the contract of new Islamabad Airport and it was third time he was targeted.

On this Justice Jawwad remarked that he will not allow anybody to target a person for doing right work and directed the Additional Attorney General to submit a written reply.

Asif Bashir pleaded the court for in chamber briefing and said that he wanted to put some important information before the court. Justice Jawwad expressed annoyance and remarked that the matter would not be discussed in chamber and would be heard in open court.

Ubaid-ur-Rehman Abbasi counsel for CAA told the court that the matter was not relevant with the case.

He also submitted report on behalf of Chairman CAA regarding facilities provided to expatriates at airports.

The court directed Overseas Pakistanis Foundation to submit reply till today and adjourned hearing of the case till June 9.
