imageISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani addressed the officers and staff of Supreme Court here Thursday.

The Chief Justice in his welcome address to officers and staff of Supreme Court said that it is a matter of pleasure that staff and officers are performing their duties with devotion, commitment, dedication and with honesty in as much as not a single complaint about corruption/corrupt practices has been received about any one of them for which they deserve appreciation and commendation.

He said that the institution with whom they are associated, being the apex Court of the country and final arbiter of law is a dignified institution.

The judgments of Supreme Court are final and are binding on all other courts. The respect accorded to the judiciary under the Constitution and in the society is not only due to the judgments of the courts but also due to the services rendered by staff members, who make it possible for the judges to dispense justice more expeditiously, he added.

He also stated that credibility and dignity of the Court in the society is on account of the efficient performance and hardworking of the staff members. The officers and staff of Supreme Court undoubtedly have been working hard and much beyond the normal call of their duty.

He also praised the services of staff and officers and hoped they will continue to work in the same spirit and with same dedication.

He told the staff that he is well aware of the problems faced by them in certain service matters. In this regard, a two-member Committee has been constituted to revise the service rules, which will be finalized soon.

Regarding the training of officers and staff, he stated that training is essential for career growth of employees which enhances capabilities and performance of staff.

In foreign countries Judges and staff are imparted training and we are also planning to chalk out a training program for the officers and staff for which the Director General, Federal Judicial Academy has been asked to devise syllabus of the training course for the officers and staff in consultation with the Registrar, Supreme Court.

He also heard in detail the problems of staff patiently and assured to resolve the same on priority basis.

Earlier, Dr. Faqir Hussain Registrar Supreme Court of Pakistan congratulated the Chief Justice of Pakistan on assuming the high office on his own behalf and on behalf of the staff and officers of Supreme Court.

He briefed the Chief Justice about the working of the staff and also highlighted the efficient performance and services being rendered by the staff members.
