KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed the Administrator, Karachi to take immediate measures to close unauthorised car parking and marriage halls in the metropolis.
Presiding over a meeting of Local Government officers, he said that it was noticed that illegal car parking and marriage halls are being run by unauthorised people in various areas of the city which is unlawful.
The meeting was attended among others by the Secretary LG Hanif Javed and Managing Director of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Qutubuddin Sheikh, a statement issued here on Monday said.
Sharjeel Memon directed the Administrator to take action against such car parking and marriage halls.
He directed him to launch operation against the indecent and big sign boards installed by the advertiser for publicity on different roads. He said that such sign boards should be removed as early as possible.
He also directed the officers concerned to regulate the affairs pertaining to authorised charged car parking fee and ensure that there shall be no complain of overcharging in this regard.
The minister also directed the officers of KWSB to make sure that closed illegal water hydrants do not re-start operation.
