ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid said the government was making all-out efforts to root out terrorism from the country as peace was necessary for sound economy.
Talking to a private news channel, Pervaiz Rashid said all the state institutions and political parties were on same page to eliminate militancy in the country.
He said the laws for punishing terrorists were necessary for the protection of country.
The minister said the government was utilizing all diplomatic channels to get stopped drone attacks in tribal areas. He said former dictator Pervaiz Musharaf had permitted the United States to carry out drone attacks in Pakistani areas.
Replying to a query, he said Pakistan was capable to address the issue of drone attacks. It could not allow such kind of acts in its territory, he added.
Answering another question, he said the government was working to make the dialogue process with Taliban successful.
