imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the District Police Officer (DPO) Chakwal to ensure production of two missing persons Umer Hayat and Umer Bakht on the next date of hearing.

The three-member bench comprising Justice Jawad S. Khawaja, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan resumed hearing of the missing persons case.

During the course of proceedings, DPO Chakwal Ahmed Arsalan informed the court that the production of missing persons was beyond his jurisdiction.

He said that the former station house officer (SHO) during Joint Investigation Team's interrogation, revealed that one person Aamir came along with some people of sensitive agencies and took Umer Hayat and Umer Bakht with them.

Justice Jawad S. Khawaja remarked that whosoever arrested them, must produce them before the court on June 12.

He also directed the DPO Chakwal to lodge a first information report (FIR) against the individuals, who had arrested them.

Wali-ur-Rehman, brother of another missing person Naveed-ur-Rehman, informed the court that his brother's case had been lodged with the Committee on Forced Disappearances, which prepared a report in this case.

Upon this, the court directed the Deputy Attorney General to submit the report of Committee on Force Disappearances till June 6.

The court also directed for arranging the meeting of Zakar Ullah and Abdul Karim with their parents at Laki Marwat Internment Center on June 17.

The Deputy Attorney General informed the court that Home and Tribal Affairs Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 4 issued a letter to facilitate a meeting of Zakar Ullah and Abdul Karim with his parents on June 17 at Laki Marwat.

The court also directed the DAG to submit copies of the letter of June 4 and adjourned hearing till June 24.
