KARACHI: The leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has said that MQM respects the rights of the Hazara people, and it would continue to raise its voice for their rights according to their wishes and aspirations.
He said this while talking to Baba Haider Zaman, the leader of Tehreek-i-Sooba Hazara by the telephone, said a statement issued by MQM here on Sunday.
According to the statement, Baba Haider Zaman had telephoned Hussain and informed him about the growing restiveness in the Hazara community because of no practical progress on their demand for the creation of Hazara province.
He asked Altaf Hussain to raise the issue of the Hazara province and told him that the hopes of the people of Hazara rested on him.
The MQM chief told Baba Haider Zaman that his party supported the rights of the Hazara people and their demand for a separate province.
He said that the voice of the people of Hazara should be listened to and given due consideration. He said that the MQM would continue to raise its voice for the Hazara people and will not leave them alone.
