PM for effective implementation of Montreal Protocol to preserve Ozone ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday called upon international community to implement the Montreal Protocol to rid the world of substances that threaten the ozone layer.In his message on the International Day for Preservation of Ozone Layer, the Prime Minister said the world is a beautiful creation of Allah Almighty and it is the responsibility of entire humanity to protect it.The Prime Minister said ozone layer protects the Earth from the harmful rays of sun, which results in serious diseases such as cancer.The United Nations' International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is observed on September 16 every year worldwide including Pakistan.The day commemorates the date of the signing of the 'Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer' in 1987.
