SC adjourns Hajj policy case till Tuesday ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Monday directed the Secretary Religious Affairs to submit a reply over approval of Hajj policy from the policy making committee and adjourned the hearing of case till Tuesday. The three-member bench of apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case regarding Hajj Policy 2016. During the course of proceedings, the court asked as to why the quota was reduced to 40 per cent while the Saudi government had allowed 50 per cent quota. The Religious Ministry would have to explain the reasons, it directed. Advocate Abid Zuberi, counsel for the petitioner, told the court that there was a difference between the policy formed by Hajj policy making committee and the policy approved by the Prime Minister.The court orders were violated during the formation of policy, he added.The Chief Justice asked whether the court could intervene in policy matters.
