pakistan-inflationISLAMABAD: Vegetables prices have decreased while fruit prices are still high in the local market as well as at weekly bazaars of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

According to rate list issued by Capital Development Authority DMA for the weekly bazaars of capital city, apples are being sold at Rs60 to 120 per kilogram, bananas Rs50 to Rs130 per dozen, melons Rs40 per kg, water melon Rs25 to 40, Mango Rs40 to Rs70 per kg, apricot Rs100 per kg, peech 50 to 100 and dates at Rs150 to 250 per kg.

While the prices of vegetables have decreased as tomatoes are being sold at Rs54 per kilogram, lady finger Rs24 per kg, potatoes Rs160 per five kg, bitter gourd Rs 14 per kg, green peas Rs100 per kg, turnip Rs30 per kg, red pumpkin Rs18 per kg, ridge gourd Rs26 per kg, spinach (750 gram) Rs20 and brinjal at Rs14 per kg.

The weekly bazaars of the federal capital attracted a large number of people due to availability of all kinds of essential commodities under one roof.

Shoppers said that weekly bazaars are the places where all kinds of commodities are available on cheap rates in comparison with open market.

This is beauty of weekly bazaars where specific sections have been developed for different products.

There are all kinds of commodities and different stalls including vegetable, fruit, essential items, foot wears, garments, new as well as second hand, carpets and decorations pieces, crockery, fish, chickens and eggs have been established to facilitate customers.

The weekly bazaar in H-9 sector also has a big parking space, which is another attraction for visitors. Bazaar official said that there is proper system of check on the quality, adding that all commodities are being checked on daily basis to facilitate buyers with standard food and other essential items.

Rahim Khan, a shopper said that weekly bazaar is the proper place for shopping and one can find anything here easily.
