commodity market2 400RAWLPINDI: Total 18 Ramazan Bazaars will be established in District Rawalpindi out of which eight Bazaars will be set up in City and Cantonment areas of Rawalpindi.

Eight Ramazan bazaars of Rawalpindi city and Cantonment Board area would be at Murree Road near Nawaz Sharif Park, Committee Chowk, Haideri Chowk, Model Bazaar Liaquat Bagh, Chungi No.22, Khawaja Corporation Adiala Road, Chur Chowk and Gulzar-e-Quaid.

These bazaars would remain open from 09:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. daily wherein the commodities of daily use, vegetables and fruit would be available to the consumers at concessional rates as compared to the open market.

According to District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Saqib Zafar the availability of all daily use commodities would be ensured especially during the Ramazan in such bazaars.

Special directives have also been issued to display the rate lists of all commodities with phone numbers of Incharge of the bazaar and emergency services. Each bazaar would also have a control room with separate waiting places for males and females. The water and fans facility would also be available in Ramazan Sasta Bazaars.

The flour bag of 10 kg at concessional rate would be available in each Ramazan bazaar. The market price of 10 kg flour bag is presently Rs.240, which will be available in the Ramazan bazaars at Rs.230 per bag.

One official from District Administration would also be on duty along with representative of Food Department in each Ramazan bazaar to check the sale of flour.

Punjab Government would provide a revolving fund through which Market Committee would provide vegetables, fruit and other necessary items after buying the same from the wholesalers through establishing green channel in each Ramazan bazaar and the concessional rate of Rs.2 would be offered to the consumer on each item through this green channel.
