Chairman Alibaba Group Jack Ma Wednesday evinced keen interest in investing in Pakistan and to build an e-Commerce platform to further promote online business ventures. The Chairman met Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Davos on the sidelines of the 47th World Economic Forum''s Annual Meeting. Jack Ma said his country had a lot of interest in investing in Pakistan as they had closely followed positive economic developments in the country.
Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Google Director Ann Lavin Thursday discussed possibilities of collaboration in digitalization of economic activities in Pakistan. Google Director for Public Policy and Government Relations, Southeast Asia and Greater China, Ann Lavin, who called on the minister here, acknowledged the economic progress of Pakistan in last three years.
Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has projected to increase the country's information technology (IT) export to $5 billion by 2020 and $10 billion by 2025 as compared to the current $2.8 billion; however, it failed to present any roadmap for achieving the set targets.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is likely to revise downward 19.5 percent sales tax currently applied to fixed and mobile broadband services in the province, it is learnt. Official sources revealed to Business Recorder that Information Technology Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has drafted the recommendations and sent to Chief Minister Pervez Khattak for final approval.
