KARACHI: Administrator, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that the number of mouth cancer patients rising to an alarming proportion due to use of gutka and mainpuri in the metropolis.
This he said while addressing as chief guest at a seminar 'oral cancer and dental diseases' held here Thursday at Medical & Dental College (KMDC).
He said that the government has imposed ban on the use of Gutkha so that the people could be saved from the harmful disease.
He said that new technology was being used in KMDC for treatment of dental diseases and new equipment were purchased for this purpose.
President, World Dental Federation Dr.Tin Chun Wang while speaking on the occasion highlighted the deadly side effects of tobacco and gutka.
Senior professors of KMDC also spoke on the subject.
