 KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where four ships carrying containers, cement and edible oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Tuesday.

Meanwhile five more ships scheduled to load/offload containers chemical and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 65 percent at the Port Qasim on Wednesday where total number of seven ships namely Maersk Kolkata, MV.Salta, BBC Kosan, Argent daisy, Lady fell, MT.Quetta and Ginga Eagle are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 1,23,517 tonnes comprising 1,15,300 tonnes imports and 8,217 tonnes at the exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried din 1,357 containers (Boxes) were handle at the during last hours.
