PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain Monday said the provincial government has allocated Rs150 million for technical training to ensure better employment opportunities for the youth.
Addressing the inaugural scheme of Traditional Skilled Work Employment Scheme here, he said the Chief Minister has pledged to double the allocated amount during next fiscal year provided the response would be encouraging.
He said the scheme has been initiated to train the youth in 10 different trades so that they could grab opportunities in the market.
Distributing letter of the scheme among 11 persons from Peshawar division, he said that as many 566 male and 223 females applied for the training. The scrutiny of 557 applications has been completed whereas the rest of the applications are under process.
The Minister lamented that the technical persons are not treated in a way as they deserve despite the fact that our religion gives due respect to skilled person.
