KARACHI: Shipping activity remained brisk at the Port where three ships scheduled to load/offload containers were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal on Thursday, March 29. Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers also arrived at Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port of forty six percent on Sunday where a total of six ships namely C.V Maersk Wisconsin, C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V ACX Raffelasi, M.T Golden Dynasty, M.T Qubaa and M.V Umm-ad-Daikh are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, palm oil, furnace oil and fertilizer respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 77,047 tonnes comprises 70,112 tonnes imports and 6,935 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 708 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.
Two ships C.V ACX raffelasi and M.T Golden Dynasty sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
Three ships C.V Maersk Wisconsin and M.T Yamamah carrying containers and phosphoric acid are expected to take berths at container terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Monday, April 2. C.V Buxhil is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, while two more ships C.V Sea land Washington and C.v Al-Muntabi are due to arrive on Tuesday, April 3.
