KARACHI: Two ships C.V MSC Reunion and M.V Lion scheduled to load/offload containers and rice were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Grain & Fertilizer Terminal respectively on Tuesday, February 21.
Meanwhile two More ships C.V CMA CGM Puccini and M.V Topoz-II carrying containers and iron ore also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at forty six percent on Tuesday where a total of six ships namely C.Y MSC Reunion, M.V Florida-II, M.V Lion, M.V Arriiah-I, M.T Ever Shining and M.T Karachi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice. urea, coal and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 107,407 tonnes comprises 76.443 tonnes imports and 30,964 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,022 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.
Two ships container vessel MSC Reunion and Bulk cargo carrier Ever Shining sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while oil tanker Karachi is expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Three ships CMA CGM Puccini. C.V Alexander and M.V Topaz-II carrying containers and iron ore are expected to take berths at QICT and IOCB respectively on Wednesday, February 22, while four more ships C.V Nysted Maersk, C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Dubai Express and C.V Hanjin Elizabeth are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, February 23.
