KARACHI: The Karachi Electric (KE) on Monday claimed that the power supply to Dhabeji pumping station is as per schedule.
A statement of the utility reiterated that `in the better interest of the people of Karachi, K-Electric provides all possible support to KWSB and all of its strategic installations are exempted from load-shed'.
The utility confirmed that due to a technical fault power supply to Dhabeji was partially affected on Sunday. The KE teams mobilized immediately to rectify the issue and within a short span of time power was restored to all but one pump.
KE teams continued to work round the clock and supply to the last remaining pump was also normalized, the statement added.
It said that the K-Electric has invested significantly to provide primary as well as backup feeder facility available for Dhabeji pumping station.
However, due to KWSB's infrastructural challenges they are unable to fully benefit from this facility, the KE statement further maintained.
`K-Electric appeals to Water Board management to invest in system upgrades', it suggested.
In line with its commitment to provide seamless services, KE teams continue to work on-ground round the clock to provide maximum relief to the people of Karachi.
