KARACHI: Six ships C.V Verdi, C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Maersk Columbus, M.V Ince Ilgaz, M.T Desh Prem and M.T Genuine Hercules carrying containers, 59,550 tonnes rape seeds, 68,430 tonnes furnace oil and 11,522 tonnes chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal. Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Wednesday, August 27. Meanwhile two more ships with containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.
Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at fifty seven percent on Wednesday where eight ships namely C.V Verdi, C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Maersk Columbus, M.V Ikon Pandan, M.V Inee Ilgaz, M.T Prosperity, M.T Desh Prem and M.T Genuine Hercules are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, rape seeds, palm oil. furnace oil and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 86,397 tonnes comprises 59,379 tonnes imports and 27,018 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3.200 containers (TEUs) ( 1,900 imports and 1,300 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port.
Departures: M.V Ikon Pandan sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning while two more ships C.V Verdi and C.V Maersk Columbus are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Arrival Schedule: Two ships C.V CMA CGM Moliere and C.V APL Oman carrying containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal on Thursday, August 28, while another ship C.V ER Denmark is due
to arrive Port Qasim on Friday, August 29, 2014.
