KARACHI: Two ships C.V Maersk Kolkata and C.V Safmarine Ngami carrying containers, chemical and edible oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Port Qasim.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, two more ships carrying containers, and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 65% at the port at fifty percent on Tuesday where Seven ships namely M.V Maersk Kolkata, C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V MSC Diera, M.T Bochem Plaris, M.T RBD-Anema-e-Core, M.V KN Forest and M.T Golden Trader were occupied at PQA berths to load / offload containers, cement, palm oil, furnace oil and fertilizer respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 109,772 tonnes, comprises 51,240 tonnes imports and 58,532 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 4,723 containers (TEUs) (2,110 imports and 2,613 exports TEUs) were handled at the port.
Three ships, C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V MSC Diera and M.T Chemrooad Polaris sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another C.V Maersk Kolkata is expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Four ships C.V CMA CGM Berlioz, C.V NSC Jenny, M.T Argent Iris and M.T Al-Salam-II carrying containers, palm oil and diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday.
